Team Roles In you application you will need to apply for a specific team role. It is your free choice to decide which role you want to take during the course, but choose wisely and consider the descriptions of the team roles on this page.

Business Developer

As business developer you will be the expert for business model generation. It is your task to analyze the market, understand your customer, control the finances and make sure, that your concept is both feasibile and viable. The best product will not be a success if there is not a profitable and sustainable business model.

Tech Developer

As tech developer you are responsible for prototyping. You will create a solution concept and prototype iteratively. You will need to conduct many experiments to test various solution alternatives. But do not forget the user and the market. Even if your product can be built, you need a user to use it, a customer to buy it, and an organization that can pay the bills.

Problem Expert

As problem expert you are an expert in understanding the potential user’s or customer’s needs. You will need to challenge assumptions and ask a lot of questions to understand the challenges of your users. Buidling early prototypes will help you. In the end, you will test different prototypes with the user to make sure you are building the right It. However, remember that whatever you come up with needs to be feasibly and viably for a product du be successful.

Team constellation

For a good working team we need at least one Business Developer, one Problem Expert and enough Tech Developers to cover the fields software, hardware and mechatronics.

Application Process This is your chance! Show us who you are! THINK. MAKE. START. !

Step out of your comfort zone:

Choose the discipline for which you want to apply within TMS. Your application will compete against all the other applications within this category!

Compose what you think expresses best who you are and what you do. It can be a short video (<90 sec), a homepage, a portfolio, a pitchdeck, a piece of code, or your winning recipe for the perfect team in which you were the master chef (< 10MB).
Go on, upload it somewhere and post the link in the “Application Link” field. Only this link and your first name will be shared with your peers.

Rank your peers:

You get to review and rank other applicants: who would you want in the course? So this is it, truly democratic: everyone votes and gets voted on.

Plus, you already get to know the people who you might want on your team (because, pssst…the team is everything!!).

Rock the event:

Once everybody has voted, the TMS Orga Team then gets a ranking for every discipline. Based on this ranking we choose the participants for Think.Make.Start.

You will hear from us via mail and once you accepted the spot you are part of the next batch of Think.Make.Start.
